Fulham's heroics were somewhat overshadowed by giant-killing Newcastle, Who came back from a goal down to register a massive home win over second placed Manchester City. I hear Liverpool fans have started talk of a statue for former manager Rafa Benitez.
Fulham overturned a 2-goal deficit to rattle Brighton 4-2 at Craven Cottage. Claudio Ranieri had stated before the game that this was the sort of match Fulham needed to win to have a realistic chance of avoiding relegation.
It promised a classic English scrap game; one with much-needed points at stake for both teams, tackles flying in and direct long passes into the big bloke up top. The weather conditions made the game atmosphere all the more enticing.

Fox in the box Glenn Murray is back amongst the goals for Brighton after eight league games without finding the net. The veteran striker imposed himself on proceedings early on with a brace that demonstrated his prowess in the penalty box.
Aleksandr Mitrovic proved a real handful for Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy and won the physical battle in the second half. Not many premier league strikers can boast of dominating that duo in the air and scoring two superb headers.

Fulham's forward line is a frightening prospect for any team in the English top flight; André Schürrle, Luciano Vietto,Ryan Babel and Mitrovic is a nice blend of technically-sound, pacy, strong and interchangeable attackers.
The defence however, with 53 goals conceded so far, has been Fulham's undoing this season and the main reason why they languish in 19th place on the log.
Last night's performance proved their fighting spirit which has only come in fits and starts, a reaction to last week's deflating defeat and the own goal bonanza at Burnley before that.

Fulham might go down in this season's relegation battle, they might as well get in a defender before the transfer window shuts who would rejig their backline and season. For now, feel free to enjoy their cracking goals.
