The prolific Egyptian has understandably failed to reach the incredible goal-scoring highs of last season, but could just prove decisive in the title race.
Mohammed
Salah’s dip in goalscoring form from last season has been down to so many
reasons; he was rushed back from a
shoulder injury in the Champions league final to participate in a disappointing
World cup campaign.
Liverpool’s
defensive solidity and lack of creativity this season has hampered Salah, who
has also had to play in an unfamiliar main striker role.
Despite his
injury struggles and lesser output, Salah has just one behind league top-scorer
Sergio Aguero with 17 and 20 in all competitions.
He is in
the midst of a seven-game goal drought, the longest he has ever gone without
scoring for Liverpool. Now, a man who was set to become the fastest to 50 league
goals for the club remains one short.
However, he
was afforded a break from recent international duty and some much-needed rest
boosts Liverpool’s final push for silverware. Salah will be raring to go for
the final stretch of the season having had warm weather training. The manager
and fans are excited.
A return to
goal scoring form for Liverpool’s talisman would inspire The Reds who can’t
afford any slip-ups. They sit two points above Manchester City who have a game
in hand, and tackle Porto in the Champions League Quarter finals.
Twelve maximum
games remain of Liverpool’s league and Champions League season and Salah is set
to be unleashed. Against Tottenham on Sunday, a goal against a Top six rival -a
major lack this season- would set him on his way.

Liverpool are
very fortunate that the other prolific attackers hit a purple patch when one has dipped form. None more so than Sadio Mané, who has hit 11 goals in
the last 11 games. They simply need him at his best to win the title and it is time for the main man to step up for the Merseysiders
Mo Salah’s Liverpool legacy is about receive a
